I have been pretty lucky with this line. I have tapped what seems like one giant Virginia family because of all the inter-marriage and complicated relationships. They were a prominent group, however, and that makes research easier. Some VA surnames appear a number of times: Taliaferro, Battaile, Washington, Garnett, Thornton, Slaughter, Buckner, Hunter, Catlett, Meriwether, Smith, Champe, Lewis, and Walker. Through this family I have connected with four presidents (Washington, Madison, Jefferson, and Taylor), several Governors, and a few other famous persons (like Patrick Henry).
